We've just published a new video on our YouTube channel with an exciting update on the Dukes Meadow project in Woodbridge. This is our third visit to Dukes Meadow for the channel, and the latest footage shows a home that is now performing exceptionally well, even exceeding Passive House standards.

Back in spring, during our first visit, we explored the large openings that would later be filled by Velfac windows and discussed some of the project's sustainability features. Now, with all the windows and doors installed, it's clear why the Velfac system was the ideal choice for high performance, particularly in terms of sound insulation, durability and aesthetics.

One striking moment came when we stepped inside and closed the door. Complete silence. Woodbridge isn’t a noisy place, but the absence of any outside sound was remarkable. We were also amazed by how warm the house felt, especially considering the heating system hasn’t yet been installed.

In the video, okoHaus founder John Lewis walks us through several elements we've highlighted in previous updates. It’s fantastic to see features like the large corner windows now fully installed and looking superb.

The Dukes Meadow house is genuinely captivating. Its form is unique, far from a conventional design. From the elegant herringbone brickwork at the front to the discreet solar panels on the roof, every aspect of the project has been meticulously considered and flawlessly executed.

A particular highlight is the expansive picture windows at the rear, offering uninterrupted views over the Woodbridge and Martlesham Valley that stretch for miles. Impressively, these large windows also provide outstanding insulation.

During filming, the homeowner was on site and told us that the house performs far beyond Passive House requirements.

Do take a look at the video, and if you’re planning a similar project, let us know. It’s a great example of why Velfac windows are such an excellent choice for sound insulation, airtightness over the building's life span, and sustainability.
